TheVillageCelebration is a media company fulfilling its mission to serve as an essential and trusted independent voice for news, information, and cultural exploration specific to African Americans with a recognition of the unique way national and world news impact our community.

Vickie Darlene Newton, a journalist with more than 30 years of radio, television and digital experience founded TheVillageCelebration in 2010.

TheVillageCelebration’s content is supported and inspired by a corps of veteran freelance journalists who are joined by a roster of contributors from academia and politics. Our work is also informed by the expertise of our website designer Larissa Bryant, lead photojournalist Andre Mitchell, and attorney Kevin Pumm.
